I've missed you.
I've been down with a bad virus for a couple weeks, one that badly affected my voice, and I've had to cancel So. Much. Work. I am eager to get back to writing and teaching.
How about an update on 65 Weeks, a winter Pop-Up schedule, and a new opportunity for help with whatever you're teaching?
Here you go!
For starters, I have shed more tears over 65 Weeks than I have over any other project ever, even my dissertation. The latest is that I finally have a designer who can do my cover artwork, but I have to work with her schedule and the printer's schedule. The innards are ready to go (though every time I look at them I find something to change), but the cover has been a hang-up. In December, I was hopeful that I'd get 65 Weeks out at the beginning of January, but my virus interfered with that plan. So I am going to refrain from giving an estimated timeline, because I've been wrong too many times for too long. It will be ready when it's ready, and I will get them out as soon as I am humanly able to do so. I am really, really, really, really regretful and sorry that this project has taken so long.
There really more details about the 65 Weeks schedule and other upcoming schedule considerations behind the paywall.
For winter Pop-Ups, I'm going to offer the Rhotic Vowels Pop-Up that I had to cancel in November this month (January).
February will bring To Be or Not To Be: A Copular Pop-Up, which will explore the history and structure of the verb {be} and clarify its three possible grammatical roles in English. We will consider both the spellings of the conjugated verb and the grammar of its uses.
For March, I'll demonstrate how to structure a lesson around words of different origins that share a semantic field (like heart~courage~cordial~cardiac), in It's Elementary! An Etymological Pop-Up.

Finally, I'm announcing a new study opportunity that I'm calling the LEX Practicum. One of my longtime clients, a 5th grade teacher, wrote, "The class I want is where we sit aroud and talk to you about what we're trying to teach, and you tell us how to make it better." So let's do it. It will have a rolling schedule and be onoing, and you can drop in whenever you'd like. I'm structuring it like the Pilates classes I've taken: one price for a single class, or you can buy a cheaper package or 5 or 10 sessions, and use them as you wish. The LEX Practicum is 10% off through January, but don't wait until the last day!
I really wanted to tidy up my sabbatical year and launch 2026 tidily, but that didn't happen. The reasons why and the Pop-Up dates and times are below.
